The Magic Service Book - First Steps
I've written over a million words, equivalent to at least 15 books, during my career but I've never written a book, till now.
True, I did start one some years ago but an evening at a Guardian Masterclass was enough to convince me that fiction writing was a talent not yet within my grasp.
With great tact and empathy, my wife Ina suggested that a topic which had long interested me and which had proven to be a commercial success, might make an interesting candidate for a book.
So the idea of 'Magic Service' was born in June 2015 and now just five months on, I've taken delivery of the first fifty advance copies.
It's an exciting time but one mixed with anxiety over its reception.
Of the many words I've written in my life, most were 'commissioned' by my employers or Clients, who had a keen interest to read what I'd written, as they'd paid for my work.
This is a different kettle of fish and in my future posts I'll share with you the ups and downs of marketing the book.
You never know, they might help you to bring to life the book that's inside your head but you never quite got round to writing.
